Is fear stopping you from living your life?

Are you having difficulty driving? Shopping in a store? Eating in a restaurant? Perhaps you cannot do your job adequately because you get so shaky during meetings. Does the thought of giving a presentation on a Monday ruin your entire weekend?

Perhaps your body is betraying you with a pounding heart, nauseated stomach, blurry vision, sweating, or uncontrollable blushing. You do what you need to do, but are miserable while you're enduring it. When it's over, you feel like you've run a marathon and you're exhausted.

All of these are consequences of anxiety that is out of control. Over 19 million Americans suffer from these kinds of problems. The good news is you CAN learn to control your anxiety, take back your life, and create the future you envision for yourself.

I was only in high school when I visited an open house for a therapy group. The group was made up of people who were having difficulty shopping, leaving their homes, and fear of having the intense physical symptoms of anxiety.

I had never heard of a panic attack nor did I realize how scary they are. I was amazed and saddened by how panic and fear could utterly devaste a person's life. I heard several different people share how they had even lost their jobs because they could speak in front of others, make sales calls, or even attend meetings.

These same people shared that through therapy, support, and a lot of hard work they were able to gain control over their bodily symptoms of anxiety, and face the very things that they had been avoiding for so long. It was at that moment that I decided I wanted a career helping people to reclaim their lives from the grips of anxiety.

That was a LONG time ago. I've had the benefit of learning a lot of "therapy" from some great professionals. The best strategies for overcoming fear, however, have come from the many, many brave people that I've had the priviledge of calling my clients. In a nutshell, I help people better understand what's going on in their body and in their mind that then leads to difficulty in all kinds of areas (public speaking, sitting in crowded rooms, driving, flying, just to name a few).
